The Nirvik Bureau, Bhubaneswar, 7 May 2025
About 100 minutes after midnight yesterday, India executed Operation Sindoor in which 9 terror camps were smashed. The headquarters of Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) and Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) have been hit too.
India has shown maturity by being restrained and focused in its retaliatory action against terrorism. No military bases, no economic hubs, no civilian areas were targeted. Only terror organisations and terrorists have been.
The Pakistan government’s response is immature, yet is on expected lines. They have vowed to hit back. If they do any such ill-advised stuff, India would hit back fiercely. And military bases in Pakistan would then be the prime targets.
The International community must pressurise Pakistan to accept India’s extremely restrained attack with grace and not escalate the situation. Pakistan has everything to lose if they choose misadventure and machismo. The Indian government and the armed forces have shown patience and restraint even as a restless nation was crying out for severe and widespread retaliation. This approach needs to be understood and appreciated.
The world needs to stand united against terror, especially state-sponsored terrorism. Pakistan has allowed its land to be used by terror organisations and terrorists to bleed India with a thousand cuts. This has to stop. Or has to be stopped. India cannot be left alone in this fight against state sponsored terrorism!
