Writng a poem
is not easy.
It’s like talking to the air,
like walking on fire-
every time
you must pass
a trial by flame,
Introducing words
to the soul.
Whispering
your secrets into void
like speaking to strangers.
Every time
You climb the stairs
the hunger rises
to know more,
to feel deeper.
Writing a poem
is not easy.
Everytime words betray,
it is the poet who knows the craft,
It’s I who know the hunger.
Knowing pain
draws you closer to
finishing the art.
It’s not easy
to design a poem.
I met many men;
they taught me this art.
Critics obstruct my path,
but I tell them-
“It’s not easy
to write a poem”.
I see a thin line
of words
clashing with clouds.
Then I learn the art
of chiseling the icy roads,
carving the statue
of immortal art.
I don’t know
what lies in my destiny.
Only this I know –
I have the strength
to continue,
to connect
many distorted
hearts
by surviving
in the words
of a poem!
