I am today’s Savitri
I do not need a Satyavan to complete me
Already I am an accomplished person
I just need a companion.
Every day I clear the thorny roads for my expedition
So I need a partner to walk beside me.
I stare at the infinite sky
I need him to accompany me
I don’t depend upon him monetarily
I can manage my own life easily.
I don’t need his life to waste time gossiping
I need his existence to read my musings!
I need him to discern my follies
I expect him to criticize me
I need my Satyavan for delving deep inside my intellect.
I want him to exist with me as the Earth needs rainwater to fill its breast!
As the sea waits for the moonbeams
For basking in the glory of lovely nights
I need my partner to whisper the four letters every time…
The man who knows self-care for loving me!
