All About Women We Live In A Gender-Biased Society

Sudipta Mishra, Puri, 5 August 2023

We are living in a biased society. Here, we judge people according to their gender. We are constantly varying our perspectives based on their gender. We always accuse a person regarding their sexes. If a person belongs to the male gender, then their follies and mistakes amicably change because of their gender.

On the other hand, we minutely judge a female because of her gender. As a kid, we are brought up in such a stereotypical society. We are drilled in the same biased set-up where a father and mother can be forgiven or convicted because of their sexes.

A father is permitted to drink and even to indulge in adultery. They could hurt their wives even with sharp weapons, and nobody could blame them. However, if the same thing is seen from a mother, then the kids and even the dogs from the streets are allowed to produce a grave expression and criticise her.

Why are we all always prejudiced in respect of our parents? Why not try to treat them with equal eyes? Why is this racism continuing from time immemorial? This is sheer folly!

When will our mindset toward crime and offence change? A vice should always be dealt with equality. Adultery is always a sin for the partners. Kids should treat a drunkard with equal treatment. Either parents who are involved in brutal acts should be dealt with equal treatment.

Kids are seasoned with a preconception to elevate the position of a father, and they never judge them while they always accuse their mother of the same blunders.

There is a saying, “being a mother, a woman has to always think about her kids first.” So why is such a thing not appropriate for a father? A widower has the right to remarry, but a widow has no rights. What will people say? He can start a new life after the death of his spouse, but a widow is not allowed to restart with her kids. What type of intolerance is this? Kids should be encouraged by their families and especially by older adults to understand their parents with a balanced vision to ensure equality in society.
