Renowned Odia poet, Dr. (Mrs) Manorama Biswal Mohapatra’s Odia anthology of poems, “Phalguni Tithira Jhia” has been recently released in its Marathi version – “Phalguni Tithichi Mulgi”. The book has been translated to Marathi by Dr. (Mrs) Radha Joglekar.
The book release function was organised by the “Maharashtra Mandal” of Odisha on 4th September, 2022 at Bhubaneswar. It is noteworthy that Dr. Manorama Biswal Mohapatra’s original Odia book had won her the Odisha Sahitya Akademi award in 1998. That book has already been translated to English, Hindi and Bengali.
BMC Commissioner and writer, Shri Vijay Amrit Kulange, IAS, was the chief guest and he released the book along with the guest of honour, Dr V.S.Joglekar. Both spoke about the book and discussed its importance in promoting inter-regional literature and culture.
Dr. Mohapatra recited a few of the original Odia poems while Dr. Joglekar recited the Marathi translations done by her. Miss Deekshya Mohapatra read out an English translation of an original Odia poem.
