Cactus in Sands

Cactus in Sands

Chittaranjan Dash, Delhi, 10 March 2024

Last flicker of daylight sighs.
We must face the mirror now,
all alone like cactus in sands.
Suddenly seized of emptiness
sitting on my old rocking chair,
I turn a shadow in my heart-
As faint as my dying memory.
May be darkness is our lullaby,
a song rises in bones as light,
blinding you with face of eternity.
