The monster sleeps –
In his dreams, his mother breastfeeds him.
Around the banks he runs like Big Bend River.
In the moonlight, his eyes shine as marbles.
The monster sleeps –
In the glassy eyes of a happy grasshopper.
Nibbling grass, drinking sunlight and ecstasy.
A profusion of future’s telepathy blinding him.
The monster sleeps –
Swinging with stars in the swaying cedars.
Granny’s lullabies warmly wrapping his skin.
Ensconced in a fireplace of love, he sleeps.
The monster sleeps –
Like a droplet of a boat in the endless tides.
A bird solitary with wings of eternity he flies.
A sweet scented song of memory his shadow-
The monster sleeps.
